Just like Visa MasterCard also has base costs for processing credit cards. This is the MasterCard interchange tables showing the cost to the processor for processing MasterCard brand credit cards. The cost is formulated as a percentage and a per item cost for each. With several pages of different cards it can sometimes be challenging to match up the card cost to the merchants processing statement. Some processing companies lay out their statements in a way that makes this nearly impossible.
